Cayman Brac is home to Cayman’s oldest museum which is situated in the capital, Stake Bay. The charming building which houses the museum plays its own part in the history of the Island. Visitors will experience a unique insight into the history and development of both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman through a selection of exhibits, showcasing a range of artifacts, some of which date back over a thousand years. The Museum is open from 9am to 12noon reopening 1pm to 4pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 12noon on Saturdays.
Located on North East Bay Road, Heritage House offers a modern take on a traditional Caymanian home offering visitors a true experience of Cayman’s cultural heritage. With over an acre of land the property is a popular venue for local events and exhibits. Tours of the grounds are available throughout the week and admission is free.
The Cayman Brac Parrot Reserve, made up of 282 acres of protected forest land, is home to the endangered Cayman Brac Parrot whose survival is dependent on the conservation of the old forest areas that make up the reserve. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk through the 2 mile trail where they will also get to see a variety of other birds and indigenous flora and fauna.
