Situated in the peaceful East End district, this enchanting, charismatic Mexican restaurant is a jewel of the Caribbean in dining experiences. With friendly, welcoming staff and a relaxing, cosy environment, La Casita offers an ideal setting to get together with friends and enjoy affordable, fun, family style eating at its best.

Going the extra mile to bring the real taste and feel of Mexico to Cayman

La Casita is owned by mother and daughter team Lynn and Kaylyn Bodden who, literally went the extra mile to ensure the restaurant would offer Cayman’s most authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails by flying to Mexico to interview staff, to add to the existing team!

La Casita’s charming, bright, colourful décor and rustic furnishings, complete with authentic Mexican accessories throughout, add to the overall ambience and experience.   Enjoy drinks at the bar and choose from an intimate indoor dining area or outside dining on the terrace, which features a charming rustic pallet lounge area, perfect for small groups.

Mexican Cuisine, Cocktails and the Mezcal experience

La Casita’s menu was designed by Head Chef Daniel, who originally comes from Guadalajara.   Guests can enjoy a selection of Mexico’s favourite dishes, from appetisers, including freshly made Guacamole and Salsa served with home-made tortilla chips, to a variety of Tacos, Burritos and sizzling Fajitas boasting a combination of flavours that are guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds.  A must-try menu that will keep you coming back for more!

New menu items will include vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options and fresh local fish specials.

As with any good Mexican restaurant, La Casita does not disappoint when it comes to its selection of cocktails. Head bar tender/Mixologist Rodrigo, originally from Mexico City, impressed me with one of the best Margaritas I have tasted.  I was also introduced to the Mezcal experience, which I highly recommend as the perfect way to end your meal!

Originating in Oaxaca, made from the heart of the agave plant, Mezcal has a distinct smoky flavour and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif.  It is said to aid in digestion and regulate the blood sugars and is naturally gluten-free.  Mezcal is generally served neat and should be enjoyed in small sips.

Mezcal can also be enjoyed in the Mexican Chocolate Brownies, one of the tempting dessert options available at La Casita.
